Go-to-Market Strategy

A usable GTM framework for B2B teams — with a healthcare / MedTech lens — so strategy decks turn into pipeline, not just slides.

A go-to-market strategy is the plan for how a product reaches its buyers: who you sell to, why you win, which channels you use, and how sales and marketing hand off work. For healthcare B2B, add buying committees, longer cycles, and compliance-aware messaging — without confusing “healthcare GTM” with consumer insurance marketplaces.

GTM framework (six building blocks)

BlockWhat to decide
1. ICP & buying committeeWho buys, who blocks, and what triggers a project in a health system or MedTech account.
2. Positioning & offerCategory, wedge, proof, and the outcome you can defend in a first meeting.
3. Channel mixInbound content, paid, partners, events, and outbound — with owners for each.
4. Messaging systemNarrative, talk tracks, objection library, and clinical vs. IT vs. admin variants.
5. Enablement & handoffsMAP/CRM stages, SDR ↔ AE definitions, and what “qualified” means.
6. Metrics & launch planLeading indicators (meetings, stage conversion) and a 30/60/90 execution calendar.

One-page GTM brief

  1. Product / offer: what ships in the first sale
  2. ICP: firmographics + triggers (budget cycle, regulation, tech refresh)
  3. Buying committee: economic buyer, champion, clinical, IT, security
  4. Competitive wedge: 3 claims you can prove in a first call
  5. Channel plan: inbound / paid / partners / outbound — with weekly capacity
  6. Pipeline math: meetings → opportunities → revenue (your numbers, not ours)
  7. 90-day launch: assets, list build, sequences, and review cadence

Lead-magnet ready: use the shortlist form in the rail to request a worksheet stub (wire delivery before launch).

Healthcare / MedTech GTM notes

  • Prefer phrases like “MedTech go-to-market strategy” or “B2B healthcare GTM” over bare “healthcare go to market” (consumer marketplace noise).
  • Map personas separately for clinical, IT, supply chain, and admin — one generic sequence usually underperforms.
  • Decide early whether patient-acquisition marketing agencies or B2B pipeline partners belong in your stack (healthcare marketing agencies).

Strategy without execution fails

Frameworks do not book meetings. When content and MAP nurture are in place but calendars are still thin, healthcare teams add outbound SDR — in-house or managed.
